    Synesthesia is a neurological condition where two or more senses of the brain are crossed, the stimulation of one sensory pathway involuntarily leads to the stimulation of another which can create some unique perceptions of the world to the affected person. People who have synesthesia are called synesthetes.         The word "synesthesia" comes from the Greek words: "synth" (which means "together") and "ethesia" (which means "perception"). Synesthetes can often "see" music as colours when they hear it, and "taste" textures like "round" or "pointy" when they eat foods. Scientists are still unsure about how common synesthesia is.
