ADHD- Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder

   ADHD- Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder
This is a severe condition hyperactivity and attention difficulty.
Symptoms of ADHD
-Emotional turmoil: This is a state of confusion or agitation in an individual. A child with ADHD always seem confused and is unable to make decisions.
-Self-focused behavior: A common sign of ADHD is what looks like an inability to recognize other people's needs and desires.
-Daydreaming: Daydreaming can be normal if you can snap yourself out of it easily but children with ADHD have intense daydreaming, hence it is very difficult for the brain to self-regulate. They are hyperfocused while they are daydreaming, you can call their name and they may not hear you. You may need to stand right in front of them to get their attention. This results in difficulties in their daily relationship with others and also academics.
Other symptoms include;
-Interrupting
-Trouble waiting for their turn
-Forgetfulness
-Fidgeting
-Problems playing quietly
-Unfinished tasks
-Lack of focus/Inattention
-Avoidance of tasks
-Mistakes
-Trouble getting organized
Symptoms as Children get older
Children as they grow older might not behave like other kids of their age do, they tend to have issues attending to instructions, focusing on school work, keeping up with assignments, completing tasks, social interaction and maintaining personal hygiene.
Diagnosis
Deciding if a child has ADHD is a process with several steps. There is no single test to diagnose ADHD, and many other problems, like anxiety, depression, sleep problems, and certain types of learning disabilities can have similar symptoms. One step of the process involves having a medical exam, including hearing and vision tests, to rule out other problems with symptoms like ADHD. Diagnosing ADHD usually includes a checklist for rating ADHD symptoms and taking a history of the child from parents, teachers, and sometimes the child.
Treatments
In most cases, ADHD is best treated with a combination of behavior therapy and medication. For pre-school aged children (4-5 years) with ADHD, behavior therapy, particularly training for parents, is recommended as the first line of treatment before medication is tried. What works best can depend on the child and family. Good treatment plans will include close monitoring, follow-ups, and making changes, if needed along the way.

The Dark Web

Adewale Ifeoluwa      The dark web is commonly known as the epicenter of illegal online activity. It is sinister and untraceable with consequences that can be deadly. You might have heard of the Silk Road or at least its history, the online marketplace where you could buy narcotics with absolute anonymity. But the dark web is part of something much bigger, the DEEP WEB which makes up 90% of the entire web. Through our internet searches in our daily lives we only see a tip of the iceberg.     Let's take a look at the basics of the web There are three categories: first there's the SURFACE WEB and that's everything that's open and available, basically everything that can be found through a Google search. Following this is the DEEP WEB , this is the portion of the internet that's hidden from conventional search engines and it contains unindexed websites. Here you can find personal information like your payroll and medical records or a...

Abortion in Nigeria

Abortion in Nigeria  " Safe abortion, my right; safe abortion, my choice. I say it loud, cause i'm proud of it. Safe abortion, my right!"                 Erin Williams     In Nigeria, abortion is illegal and carries a heavy jail sentence up to 14 years imprisonment unless it is performed to save the life of the pregnant woman. Nevertheless, a large number of abortions continue to be carried out regularly, often with dire consequences for the lives and health of the women involved, hence the need to legalise abortion.                    An Overview of Abortion      Abortion is the deliberate termination of a human pregnancy, most often performed during the first 28 weeks of pregnancy. An abortion that occurs without being induced is known as a "miscarriage" or "spontaneous abortion", it occurs in 30% to 50% of pregnancies.      When carried out properly, ...

Hyperthymesia (Superpower or A Curse)

Hyperthymesia is an ability that allows people to remember nearly every event of their life with great precision. Hyperthymesia is a rare condition and just about 60 people in the world have been diagnosed with this condition. This condition is also known as Highly Superior Autobiographical Memory (HSAM). The patients (known as hyperthymesiacs) remember almost everything that has happened to them right from infancy and can describe any day of their lives in amazing detail.  There are two defining characteristics of hyperthymesia: spending an excessive amount of time thinking about one's past, and displaying an extraordinary ability to recall specific events from one's past.                Short  and long-term memory and HSAM        When you  experience something, your brain stores it as a short-term memory. You probably rememb...
